Everyone who’s bent needs a place to vent. This is my place.

Like A Needle In A Haystack

The last couple of days have been a whirlwind. I’ve been trying to put up all the details of the $3500 cash giveaway/Recovering Idiot book report on this blog site ($3500.00!).  Truthfully, I’ve not been thinking all that clearly.

In fact, a depressing thought hit me in the middle of the night. What if no one sends a book report in? All that money and no place to put it. Plus, a ton of poor students out there without the dough. I haven’t gotten one book report back so it doesn’t look like there will be much competition. Interesting dilemma.

So the day before yesterday I noticed when putting on my socks that I had a hole in the toe of one. Michele is pretty busy teaching piano and fiddle along with doing my book keeping and a few other jobs so I don’t dare ask her to darn my sock.

So I decided to take matters in my own hands. I found a needle and thread and started sewing. It was a matter of seconds until ran into trouble and got the needle stuck in the sock. I was busy so I set it aside until Michele could help me untangle it.

Yesterday, she was still busy and I needed some socks. I threw a few socks and other odds and ends into the washing machine. Later I put them in the dryer.

This morning I needed socks. I asked Michele about where some were, hoping she would feel a little guilty and do some wash. She said “Didn’t you wash some yesterday?” I felt a little silly since I’m forgetting everything these days.

I grabbed a couple socks out of the dryer, went back upstairs, sat down and pulled a sock on. Then I noticed I had a steel-toed sock. I’m glad I noticed it before I put my shoe on!

I was a little incredulous that I had grabbed the sock, washed and dried it, carted it back to the bedroom and put it completely on with ever getting stabbed.

If anyone would like to start sewing my holey socks, please let me know. Michele is busy. I’m not qualified. However, I can provide the needle.

And since I’ve already committed to this cash giveaway, please don’t do a book report. If no one does it, I’ll keep the cash. I’m probably going to need the money for an Alzheimer’s care facility where I can do needlepoint.

Actual picture. Unstaged.

Mitch says the toe is ugly. When she’s not looking, I’m going to take a picture of her toe with a needle hanging out. Two can play this game.

Come on over, Ben. I’m sure Bret has an extra pair of clean socks without a hole you can have. 😊

Ben, that appears to be a right foot sock. If you switch feet with your socks ,the hole will not be so noticeable.

Maybe that’s the same reason my shoes hurt so bad.
