I hit the mother-lode, a fungi feast tonight!

It’s been a long time since this has happened last… 1974 to be exact.

I chanced upon a family of mushrooms this morning. What a pleasant surprise! In ’74, I was knocking on doors in Altoona PA with a buddy. It had just finished raining and as we walked, we noticed a bunch of mushrooms growing next to the sidewalk. We filled our pockets and had mushrooms in our spaghetti sauce for the next week. They were pretty tasty. I was a little concerned that they might be poisonous but my friend assured me they were fine. They were.

My wife is tripping around Paris with a couple of daughters this week, probably shopping for a mushroom souffle’. Little does she know what she’s missing out on back here in her own little casa.

It seems to me that when we cooked them in PA, we cut them up so I’ll do the same. If anyone would like to stop by and have a taste, please do. I nibbled on one and it was delicious.

Not being a expert if I can not name it I will reject it.
I don’t know any with fins on the bottom that I would eat.
